About Me

Deondra Howard
I am a Christian multi-discipline, mixed- media artist. My creations have always been a manifestation of my personal and spiritual journey. My main influence is the physical and spiritual life of the world around me. Through my work I hope to help make intangible dreams/visions and ideas tangible, while also inspiring others to find deeper connections within their own life's journey. I hope to inspire people to love in all that they do and live life deeply.

I grew up in Indianapolis with a big family that help shape my principles and values and also my love and appreciation of the art world. Since I was young I have always loved the creative aspects of music, singing, writing, drawing and using my hands to create things. Growing up I found I really enjoyed the process of creation through a variety of different mediums. So I started out practicing: playing music, singing, writing poems/ lyrics, sketching and painting. In school, I took classes on piano/band, ceramics, jewelry, and fine arts. I went to college and studied in a variety of classes also: game/character design, website coding/design, graphic design, fine arts, 3d art, and digital art.

My goals now are to better myself and my skills and continuing my spiritual journey while inspiring peace and love to all.
I am an artist, musician, writer, friend, and child of God, and I believe God is the Greatest Creator.

Name Origin

I came up with the name "Art Dungeon" as my company name for 3 reasons. The first reason being "Dungeon" was a nickname given to me by my family for whatever reason. I thought the name kind of fit, me being a fairly reserved person and being lock away creating by myself most the time. The second reason was because I liked how the definition of "dungeon" fit into what I envisioned for my company.
Dungeon: (a strong underground prison cell, especially in a castle)
I believe everything can be considered a form of art, so to think of being in a huge underground prison full of all forms of art would ironically be a paradise for me. My last reason was because it also can be seen as a metaphor for locking away treasure within yourself (within your heart and soul). Everyone looks at the castle and thinks it is the real treasure and beauty, but what is underneath? Inside, quietly locked away in the heart of the castle is the real treasure.
The Art Dungeon.
